Primolut-N by Bayer is a prescription progestogen tablet. Doctors prescribe it to postpone a period (for umrah or hajj, a wedding, exams or travel), and for heavy periods, painful periods, premenstrual syndrome, endometriosis and abnormal uterine bleeding.
Each tablet contains norethisterone 5mg. When it is used to postpone a period, Bayer's leaflet states that a normal period should occur two to three days after the tablets are stopped.
