Use the Fertile Days Finder on our site to get your fertile window, then test once a day with an LH strip from the first day of that window (day 10 on a 28 day cycle); the seven strips cover the whole window. Use urine from the afternoon or evening, not first morning urine, for LH. Dip the strip to the marked line for 10 seconds and read at 5 minutes. A test line as dark as or darker than the control line means your surge has started: the next two days are your best chance. Use the hCG strips from the first day of a missed period, with first morning urine.

When in my cycle should I start the ovulation strips?
Count the first day of your period as day 1. With a 28 day cycle, start testing around day 10 and test once a day at the same time; early afternoon works well. Avoid drinking a lot of fluid for 2 hours before testing so the sample is not diluted. If your cycle is shorter or longer, shift the start day earlier or later to match.
How do I read an LH strip, and when will I ovulate?
An LH strip is positive when the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line. A lighter test line is normal on most days and only means the surge has not started yet. A positive strip means the LH surge is happening and ovulation is likely within 24 to 36 hours. That day and the next are your most fertile days.
When do I use the two pregnancy strips?
Wait until the first day of your missed period, then dip an hCG strip in first morning urine for about 10 seconds and read at 5 minutes. The second strip lets you confirm the result a few days later.
