Best Vitamin C Serum in Pakistan (2026): What Works and What to Pay

Walk into any pharmacy in Lahore or scroll Daraz for five minutes and you will find fifty products calling themselves the best vitamin C serum in Pakistan. Most of them will not tell you the concentration, the form of vitamin C used, or why the liquid inside is already orange (a bad sign, more on that below). This guide gives you the short version of what actually matters, then honest picks from what we stock.

What vitamin C actually does for your skin

Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is one of the few skincare ingredients with solid evidence behind it. It works on pigment by inhibiting tyrosinase, the enzyme that converts tyrosine into melanin, which is how it softens the look of dark spots and post-acne marks. It also acts as an antioxidant against daily sun and pollution damage, and it supports the collagen your skin makes, which is the firmness side of the job.

What it will not do: bleach your skin, remove deep scars, or replace sunscreen. Any product promising a shade change is overpromising.

How to judge a serum before you buy

Concentration. A review of topical vitamin C puts reputable products in the 10 to 20 percent range, notes that a formula needs to be above 8 percent to be biologically meaningful, and adds that going past 20 percent buys irritation rather than results. Some serums use a vitamin C derivative instead, which survives longer in the bottle; plain L-ascorbic acid is the form that clinical work is based on.

Packaging. Vitamin C oxidises with light and air. As it goes off it turns into dehydroascorbic acid, which imparts a yellow colour and browns from there, so a serum that arrives deep orange has been sitting around and has lost much of its strength. A fresh one is clear to pale champagne. A dark or opaque bottle with a pump or dropper is worth insisting on.

Supporting ingredients. Vitamin E is the partner worth having: the same review reports that it potentiates vitamin C four-fold. Hyaluronic acid does not make the vitamin C work harder, it just offsets any dryness, which still matters if your skin is on the tight side.

A realistic price. Vitamin C is a cheap raw material, so most of a large price tag is brand, packaging and import cost. Locally packed serums are the cheapest way to buy it, ours included at Rs 2,000, while imported Korean brightening serums cost several times that. Paying more buys you a published formula and a brand that answers for it, not automatically a stronger serum. What is never worth paying for is a bottle that hides what is in it.

Our picks for 2026

Best overall: Vitamin C Brightening Face Serum

The Vitamin C Brightening Face Serum from NB Sons is the one most readers start with, at Rs 2,000. It is lightweight, aimed at dull tone and uneven skin, and NB Sons lists it as suited to most skin types. No percentage is published for it, so treat it as a daily brightening serum rather than a high-strength ascorbic acid treatment. Use it the way the label says: a few drops on clean skin in the morning, then moisturiser, then sunscreen.

Best for dry or sensitive skin: a vitamin C cream instead

If serums sting or your skin barrier is easily upset, a cream format is the calmer route. The Vitamin C Brightening Face Serum 30ml (Rs 2,000) puts ascorbic acid in a moisturising base with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera and vitamin E, and vitamin E is the one addition with real evidence behind it. It is a morning and night product, and the jar holds 50g. Stop using it if the cream turns dark brown, which means the vitamin C has oxidised.

If you want the strength printed on the box

Neither of our vitamin C products states a percentage, which is normal for locally packed skincare but frustrating if you like to check. The brightening serums we stock that do state their actives work by a different route: the Beauty of Joseon Glow Deep Serum (Rs 4,999) uses rice bran water and 2% alpha-arbutin, and the Anua Niacinamide 10% + TXA 4% Serum (Rs 5,410) uses niacinamide, tranexamic acid and arbutin. Both target the same dark spots, and neither has vitamin C's oxidation problem.

The routine around it

A serum works only as well as the routine holding it. Cleanse first: the CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser (Rs 5,999) if your skin is normal to dry, or the CeraVe Acne Control Cleanser (Rs 6,590) with 2% salicylic acid if you are oily and breaking out. Then vitamin C on dry skin in the morning, then moisturiser, then sunscreen. Sunscreen is not optional here: filters stop only about half the free radicals that UV generates in skin, which is exactly why antioxidants are recommended alongside SPF rather than instead of it. The Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun Aqua-Fresh SPF50+ (Rs 3,870) is the one to reach for on oily and combination skin, and our guide to the best sunscreens for oily skin in Pakistan covers the rest.

How to use it without irritation

Apply 3 to 4 drops to clean, dry skin in the morning. Wait a minute before moisturiser. Expect a mild tingle the first week; burning or redness that lasts means stop and switch to a lower strength or the cream format. Do not layer vitamin C with AHA/BHA acids or retinol in the same routine while you are starting out. Store the bottle away from sunlight with the cap tight, and finish it within about three months of opening. If you have a skin condition or you are already using a prescription treatment, check with your doctor before adding it.

When to expect results

General glow usually shows up within the first few weeks. Dark spots and acne marks are slower, think in months rather than weeks, and they only fade if you are wearing sunscreen every day. Take a photo in daylight before you start. Week to week you will not notice the change, but the three-month comparison is usually convincing.

Where to buy

If you are starting from nothing, buy the Vitamin C Brightening Face Serum and a sunscreen, and add the cream later if the serum ever feels sharp on your skin. The other serums and cleansers in this guide sit in cleansers and treatments. We deliver across Pakistan with cash on delivery, and delivery is free on orders over Rs 5,000 in Punjab.

Frequently asked questions

Which vitamin C serum is best in Pakistan?

For most skin types, a serum in dark packaging at a fair price, used every morning under sunscreen. Our top pick is the Vitamin C Brightening Face Serum at Rs 2,000. Dry or sensitive skin does better applying it over a damp face and following with a moisturiser, which buffers the same active without dropping the strength.

Can I use vitamin C serum every day?

Yes, once your skin adjusts. Start three mornings a week for the first two weeks, then move to daily. Always follow with sunscreen in the morning.

Does vitamin C serum whiten skin?

No. It fades dark spots, evens tone and adds glow, but it does not change your natural skin colour. Products promising whitening are either overclaiming or contain ingredients you do not want on your face.

Why did my serum turn orange?

The vitamin C has oxidised from air and light exposure. Ascorbic acid becomes dehydroascorbic acid as it goes off, which is yellow to start with and browns from there, and it does far less for your skin in that state. Buy serums in dark bottles, keep the cap tight, and replace the bottle about three months after opening.

Can I use vitamin C with niacinamide?

Yes. Modern serums layer fine, and the two do not cancel each other out. If you would rather keep them apart, niacinamide in the evening and vitamin C in the morning is an easy split. Our niacinamide guide covers that side of the routine.
