Simrid is an ivy leaf preparation for coughs, sold as a 120 ml syrup for adults and older children and 20 ml drops for younger children. Ivy leaf (Hedera helix) contains saponins, which are traditionally used to thin chest mucus so a tight, chesty cough is easier to clear. It has no sedative ingredients, so it suits school and work hours.

Composition (per 5 ml syrup): Ivy Leaf Extract 35 mg. Composition (per 1 ml drops): Hedera Helix (Ivy Leaf) Extract 40 mg.
Directions: Syrup for adults and older children, the required number of teaspoons 2 to 3 times daily, preferably after meals. Drops for younger children, as directed by a healthcare professional, given directly or mixed with a little water.
