Minoxin Plus is a 5% minoxidil topical solution (Minoxidil USP 50 mg per ml) made by Brookes Pharma, Karachi. It is a medicine indicated for androgenetic (pattern) hair loss: baldness of the vertex in men and diffuse hair loss or thinning of the frontoparietal (front and top) area in women. It comes as a 60 ml bottle with a pump spray applicator.
What to expect

- For external use on the scalp only; wash your hands after applying
Note: This is a pharmacist-guided medicine. Read the enclosed leaflet and use only as directed. Not for use during pregnancy or while nursing; safety and effectiveness in people under 18 have not been established. Do not use it with other scalp topicals such as corticosteroids, retinoids or petrolatum, and do not use a hairdryer to speed drying. If you notice a rapid heartbeat, chest pain, dizziness or swelling, stop using it and consult a doctor.
How to Use
Apply 1 ml (about six pumps) to a thoroughly dry scalp twice daily, starting at the centre of the affected area: do not exceed 2 ml per day. Wash hands thoroughly after applying, avoid contact with eyes and broken skin (rinse well with cool water if it happens), and don't blow-dry the solution in, as heat reduces its effectiveness. External use only.

How long before I see results?
The Brookes leaflet says at least four months of regular use are generally needed before there is evidence of hair growth. Stay consistent and follow the leaflet rather than stopping early.
Is Minoxin Plus a spray?
Yes. The 60 ml bottle comes with a pump applicator that sprays the solution onto the scalp. Apply it only as directed on the leaflet, to a thoroughly dry scalp, and wash your hands afterwards.

No. The leaflet says not to use it with other topical agents such as corticosteroids, retinoids or petrolatum, or anything that increases absorption through the skin. Keep it away from the eyes, and rinse with plenty of cool water if it gets in.
