What to reach for
A blocked nose: Vicks VapoRub (Rs 1,495) rubbed on the chest and throat, or a few drops of Olbas oil (Rs 3,999) on a tissue to breathe in. Check the label for the minimum age before using either on a child.
A sore or scratchy throat: a lozenge such as Strepsils Honey & Lemon (Rs 3,895), Fisherman's Friend or Jakemans keeps it moist and soothed.
A cough: our herbal syrups with ivy leaf, such as FINKuff, are made for chesty and dry coughs.
When to see a doctor
See a doctor if a fever lasts more than three days, you are short of breath, a cough lasts more than three weeks, or a baby under three months has a temperature. Read each label before use.
