Diane-35 Tablets (21 Tablets)

Diane-35 is Bayer's combined tablet of cyproterone acetate 2mg and ethinylestradiol 0.035mg. Doctors prescribe it to women of reproductive age for moderate to severe acne related to androgen sensitivity, with or without oily skin, and for hirsutism (excess facial or body hair). For acne, the manufacturer's information says it is used after creams and antibiotic treatment have not worked. Cyproterone acetate is an anti-androgen, so it acts on the hormonal driver behind those symptoms rather than on the skin surface.

Changes are slow. The manufacturer's information says time to relief of symptoms is at least three months, and your doctor reviews periodically whether to keep going.

Diane-35 inhibits ovulation, so it prevents conception while you are taking it, but it is not recommended for contraception on its own and no additional hormonal contraceptive should be used alongside it.
