Hydration and moisture are not the same thing
Hyaluronic acid pulls water into the upper layers of skin. It does not seal anything in. That distinction matters enormously in Pakistan, because in dry winter air a hyaluronic serum with nothing over it can pull water out of your skin instead of into it, and leave you tighter than before you started.
How to actually apply it
On damp skin, then a cream on top within a minute. That is the whole technique, and it is the difference between the ingredient working and people concluding it does nothing.
The serum
Conatural Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 (Rs 1,330) is the straightforward option, with panthenol alongside for barrier support.
If you also have redness
Anua Azelaic Acid 10% + Hyaluron (Rs 5,500) treats the redness and hydrates in one step, which is useful for rosacea-prone skin that reacts to having too many products.
The cream that goes on top

Hyaluronic Acid FAQs
Why does hyaluronic acid make my skin feel tighter?
Because you applied it to dry skin in dry air with nothing over it, so it drew water from deeper in your skin and that water evaporated. Apply to damp skin and seal with a cream and the problem goes away.
Hyaluronic acid or glycerin?
Both are humectants and glycerin is much cheaper and arguably more reliable in dry air. Most good moisturisers contain both. Neither is a status ingredient worth paying a premium for on its own.
Can I use it every day?
Yes, morning and night. It is not an exfoliant or an active in the irritating sense, and there is no adjustment period.
Do I still need a moisturiser if I use a hyaluronic serum?
Yes, and more than ever. The serum brings water in; the moisturiser is what stops it leaving. Used alone in Pakistani winter it can leave skin drier.
