What BK Botox is
The BK Botox Brazilian Keratin Hair Treatment Kit (Rs 5,500) is a salon smoothing service in three 350 ml bottles: No.1 Clarifying Shampoo, No.2 Keratin Smoothing Treatment and No.3 Deep Moisturizing Conditioner. The treatment is combed through, blow-dried and sealed with a flat iron, and leaves frizzy or puffy hair smoother and straighter for weeks. Pakistani salons usually quote four to six weeks.
Despite the name, there is no botulinum toxin in it. "Botox" is trade shorthand for a smoothing, filling hair treatment, and "Brazilian" refers to the keratin smoothing technique that started in Brazil.
Salon or home?
The bottles say professional use only. The service needs careful sectioning, a flat iron that reaches 230°C and a couple of hours, so most people have it done at a salon or by someone who does keratin treatments regularly. Work in a well-ventilated room, wear gloves and keep the product off the scalp and away from the eyes. One kit covers several services, depending on hair length.
Making it last
