Choosing a mouthwash
Start with alcohol. Classic Listerine Cool Mint (Rs 1,045) has the strong sting many people expect. If that burns, or if you have a dry mouth, pick an alcohol-free one: Listerine Zero (Rs 945), Oral-B Gum & Enamel Care (Rs 1,095) or Euthymol Icy Mint (Rs 1,800).
When to use it
The NHS advises not rinsing with mouthwash straight after brushing, because it washes away the fluoride your toothpaste left behind. Use it at a different time of day, such as after lunch. Mouthwash adds to brushing and flossing; it does not replace them. Our mouthwash guide compares each bottle.
