A Berlin makeup house, family-run since 1945
Kryolan was started in Berlin on 14 August 1945 by Arnold Langer, a chemist who mixed creams and colours in a small lab for the city's theatres as they reopened after the war. The company later moved to Papierstrasse in Berlin and still has its headquarters there. It is still owned and run by the Langer family, with Arnold's son Wolfram and grandsons Sebastian and Dominik.
What Kryolan makes
Professional makeup, aimed at the people who paint faces for a living: foundations, eyeshadows, camouflage products, face and body paints and special effects colours. The brand grew up around theatre and went on to film and television.

- Kryolan Aquacolor Face & Body Paint, 8ml, Rs 7,500. A glycerin-based cake colour for face and body painting, from White 070 and Deep Black 071 through Youth Red 079, Bright Yellow 509, Royal Blue 510 and Medium Brown 043.
Kryolan describes Aquacolor as a glycerin-based compact make-up, especially colour-intensive, made with the ingredients of skin cream preparations. You lift the colour with a slightly moistened sponge or brush and let it dry, and it is buffed rather than powdered. It is largely smudge-proof and comes off with soap and water, which is what makes it practical for face painting, body art, stage looks and Halloween. The rest of the Kryolan catalogue is not stocked here yet.

Cash on delivery is available across Pakistan, and bank transfer if you would rather pay first. Delivery is free on orders over PKR 5,000 in Punjab and Islamabad, over PKR 7,000 in Sindh and KPK, and over PKR 10,000 in remote areas.
