What a primer actually does
A primer is a preparation layer between skincare and foundation. Depending on the formula, it does one or more of four jobs: it fills the texture of pores and fine lines so foundation sits smooth instead of sinking in, it controls oil so your T-zone does not break through the base by lunch, it adds grip so foundation lasts hours longer, or it adds hydration so makeup does not cling to dry patches. No primer does all four perfectly, which is why "which primer is best" has no single answer. The right question is which of those four problems you have.
